We have set out to change almost everything and we need to change now! Our capability area, Customer Engagement, is directly connected to the “Reclaim IKEAs data and build new products in the cloud” initiative. In short - we are reclaiming our customer data - including all IKEA Family and Business accounts - which has, up until now, often been managed by local vendors, and are building the capabilities to personalize the customer journey across IKEA touchpoints (digital and physical). That is, we build, refine and maintain digital products that deals with customer information and marketing communication, such as:

• Customer touchpoints and co-worker tools
• Identification and access management
• Loyalty, Rewards and Personalisation
• Refining and cleaning customer data
• Distributing data to the rest of the IKEA
• Marketing communication
• Digital Asset Management


You love coding. You have a curious nature and actively acquire new knowledge, skills, champion new methods, digital systems and processes to improve performance. Doing so, will enable you to change direction based on new ideas, approaches and strategies. You will be empowered to work agile and with continuous improvements within the software engineering function. By encouraging simplicity, efficiency, ownership, accountability makes you easy to collaborate with, to achieve our common goals.

To be successful as a Software Engineer you have advanced training in computer science or similar experience through keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise. In addition, you have demonstrable experience in working in an Agile and DevOps working set-up. You get energized by delivering high quality software in an agile environment.

As Software Engineer at Customer Engagement you must have one or more of the below skillsets:

• Client web developer – JavaScript, CSS, HTML
• API developer – NodeJS alt Java, REST API design
• NoSQL, SQL Databases
• Functional and automated testing, continuous integration and deployment
• DevOps tools and methods

Meriting skills include:
• React JavaScript library
• TypeScript
• Working with native cloud providers, Google primarily but others are also meriting
• Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science or equivalent degree


The role is based in Malmö/Helsingborg, Sweden.
