About the job...
We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) for our office in King of Prussia, PA, to secure business objectives according to relevant IKEA strategic directions and our Category Land Business Plan. As BDM, you are responsible for a team of co-workers, and transportation business within the Americas region (with the main focus on USA, Canada, and flows from Mexico). You will work within Category Area Transport (consisting of two categories: Category Land and Category Ocean & Air), in Category Land and report to the Category Manager - Land Transportation.
Your main assignments as Business Development Manager are:
You formulate strategic approaches for Land transportation in Americas (based on overall strategy and regional specifics) and lead their implementation
Respectively, you are accountable for business development and performance in all dimensions (price development, service precision, sustainability, quality, safety and security), meeting the business needs and customer expectations both today and tomorrow
You are accountable for establishing a high performing service providers’ base, through IKEA Way of doing business, based on shared business models, trust, and transparency.
You lead & manage a small team of business co-workers; inspire and empower your team to perform their best and continuously develop.
You are responsible for recruitment, development, performance management, and succession plan for co-workers in the team.
You contribute to the optimization of the value chain that creates better products and services at lower total costs to reach more of the many customers
You are responsible for internal stakeholder alignment & management to secure effective collaboration throughout the IKEA supply chain
You are accountable to secure up-to-date market intelligence and utilize it effectively to secure business objectives
You actively contribute to the creation of CategoryBusiness Plan, business concepts, and approaches
You are responsible to implement and secure compliance with relevant internal ways of working
