You see things a little differently. So do we! We believe that what you value is more important than what your CV says. We offer positions that will challenge your skills and let you grow. Come see things a little differently with us.

Who we are

The world is changing and the IKEA business is changing with it. For IKEA though, one thing will always remain the same ─ our vision to create a better everyday life for the many people.

We will strengthen and develop our competences in order to meet the needs and dreams of the many people around the world. And to be accessible and relevant, wherever and whenever they wish to meet IKEA.

About us

Inter IKEA Systems (Core Business Franchise) owns the IKEA Concept and is the worldwide IKEA franchisor. We are specifically responsible for the IKEA strategic framework, ensuring the IKEA Concept is updated, relevant, implemented and followed-up – together with all IKEA trademark users.

How do we do this? By enabling people across the IKEA value chain, and creating unique content to develop the IKEA business. Here are some examples of our different assignments.

  • We develop solutions that will ensure a unique and successful meeting with IKEA customers.
  • We lead the work around when and how IKEA expands in the world, enabling one common way of working with high impact at a low cost.
  • We create the preconditions to strengthen the IKEA Culture and develop the right competence to meet customer and business needs.

An important part of our success is our unique culture and open working environment. Together, we create a workplace where everyone feels free to be themselves – to experiment, try new ways, and dare to ask, “What if…?” We believe in everyday personal growth and offer the opportunity to develop your career globally.

Job Description

Are you someone who likes to do things differently and wants to be part of a force for positive change for people and the environment?

We’re looking for a curious Cloud Engineer to join our DevOps journey in creating solutions for a better tomorrow. You’ll be part of the Consumer and Market Insight solutions domain that would help shape IKEA’s experiences, strategy and plans. These solutions cover:

  • How People Live
  • How People Shop
  • Brand and Range Performance
  • Customer Experience
  • Strategic Market Insight
  • Competitor Insight

About the role

As the Cloud Engineer, you will have plenty of opportunities to build IKEA’s foundation.

The Cloud Engineer is a critical role within the digital transformation that IKEA is currently undergoing, so there is no more exciting time to join us than now. You will:

  • Be responsible for performing technical duties associated with cloud computing
  • Design cloud software and systems, as well as implement and maintain them.
  • Identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Provide guidance, thought leadership and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies.
  • Ensure application performance, uptime and security while maintaining high code quality and best in class design principles.
  • Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build and deploy Azure / AWS applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling and advanced analytics.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for Azure / AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing and quality assurance.
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.

About you

If you want to be part of a curious, creative environment that’s open to taking risks, this may be your new home.

As Cloud Engineer, you will have strong skills in cloud-based tech, preferably with Azure. You’ll put to work your deep grasp of emerging technologies, platforms and applications, and the ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and sufficient.

Your advanced industry knowledge is key, and your extensive experience in cloud maintenance and managing staff will keep us on the cutting edge.

You will apply what you know, including your knowledge of web services, API, REST, and PRC, while impacting our IT operations' day-to-day efficiency and overall growth.

We see leadership as an action, not a position. We’re looking for a hands-on, creative team player who can lead by example while finding simple solutions to complex problems. Someone who can share their competence as well as mentor and lead others.
