• Understanding of localization trends and value of localization process for the Readiness to develop new process in that area, create effective approaches and find better ways of working. • Proven education in linguistic field, minimum of 2 years of hands-on localization experience and good knowledge of machine translations software. • Work experience on the localization vendor side. • Extensive knowledge of project management including workflow optimization, time management and multitasking skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trustful relationships with stakeholders across the organization as well as external vendors. • Leadership skills, strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills. • Knowledge in following areas: • extensive knowledge of translation digital systems, techniques and new tools • deep linguistic knowledge of local language and high proficiency English language – written and spoken • understanding of how to leverage communication to enable better business outcomes, today and tomorrow • project-management • experience of working on online translation software, Computer Assisted Translation tools and Translation management systems • strong computer skills with knowledge of Excel, InDesign, HTML and other web-based tools • understanding of Search Engine Optimization • knowledge of IKEA Concept, IKEA Brand, IKEA Culture & Values and IKEA Tone of Voice to ensure the right representation
• Build and manage the localization process in close collaboration with country-level stakeholders, as well as the global localization team • Manage localization and translations projects end to end, setting stakeholder expectations while ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content • Support the on-boarding of global recommended localization vendors, together with procurement, and review their performance • Work with localization vendors on a daily basis to ensure their continuous development, timely delivery of projects, as well as high quality of work • Be the primary point of localization knowledge in the country, advising on best practices, process, budgeting and planning, and be responsible for linguistic assets such as glossaries, terminologies, etc. • To develop and promote localization set-up inside the organization • Work closely with local content creation teams to create web, sales, communication and social media content that is appealing to customers by providing input from a linguistic perspective, while driving consistency with global content • Consolidate and provide linguistic feedback to the translators/translation vendors to educate them on IKEA tone of voice and also mediate in cases of conflict on quality discussions • Collaborate with the global localization team to ensure consistency of approach, to define and implement quality frameworks, and to input on process improvements, budget planning and future localization roadmap and strategy.
