Your responsibilities

In this role, you will report to an engineering manager in the Payments capability area. The Amsterdam office in the Netherlands will be your home location.
As a SDET in Payments, you will have the opportunity to:
· Play a leading role in developing and driving our online payments test strategy.
· Establish strong automation foundations and guide the team to ensure the right amount of testing is happening at the right level.
· Bring testability thinking to early architecture and software design discussions, shaping how we build quality into our systems.
· Create and maintain test scenarios for complex, distributed architectures.
· Explore new testing approaches, frameworks, and tools.

You also have
· Proficiency in a software language such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Python, etc.
· Familiarity with testing in cloud computing platforms (preferably GCP, but AWS or Azure experience is great too!).
· Awareness of modern observability practices, including distributed tracing, structured logging, and metrics.
· A desire to contribute to an engineering culture based on DevOps principles.
· Passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience and a willingness to always champion user needs.
· Interest of mentoring and growing engineers around you, through direct feedback and pull request reviews.
· Great written and verbal communication skills.

Our team is one of five teams that are working with online payments. Our team is focusing on the customer facing frontend. This means that we are an incredibly important chain in the customer journey since we are one of the last teams interacting with the customer during their purchase. In Payments, we want to enable more customers to have a seamless payment experience. We want to achieve this by:

· Enabling our customers around the world to use their preferred payment methods

· Setting high engineering standards which ensure that our systems have quality built-in

· Experimenting with new technologies, taking a data driven approach to continuous improvement

· Making payments feel frictionless
